I was a ABA therapist for a company around the Fort Campbell, Ky area for over a year. I worked with special needs children, emphasis on autism. I volunteered at a Fort Campbell school and also worked as a substitute teacher. I was TriCare approved at my last job. I am currently attending college to receive my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have less than one year to graduate. My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I am currently helping homeschool a 7th grader in math, and I’m really enjoying the review! My student and I often explore problems together, which she says helps her better understand the skill. Would love to tutor more math!

I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington. I taught first and second grades for ten years in the classroom. While teaching, I returned to school to receive my Master's Degree in Reading (k-12) and certification as a Reading Specialist. I worked as a Reading Teacher for five years, focusing on grades first through third. I also served as a K-2 Instructional Coach. I have enjoyed guiding children through the stages of reading, beginning with letter recognition and book and print awareness, to successfully completing End of Grade tests. My most recent experience has been helping teach a couple students being homeschooled! What an exciting experience! Unfortunately, the family is moving out of state. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach by using the hands on technique. I will do whatever I can to see that the student grasp what is being taught. It is so neat to watch how sometimes you will see the light flick on and you know they "have it". I also will provide hand outs and use the computer to give them extra practice.
I have four children of my own and home schooled each one through elementary school and some middle school. They returned to public school for middle school where I then provided tutoring for other classmates. I know sometimes math as well and other subjects come harder for one than the other so I realize the tutoring session needs to be geared toward that particular child.
