An accomplished concert pianist, singer and writer, Mytch received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2014, under the private instruction of Dr. Stephen R. Allen. She has also had extensive study of the French language and has served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City (Spanish speaking). Immediately after finishing her undergraduate studies, she attended Boise State University and earned her Masters of Music in Piano Performance in May 2017. Having taught small and large classes, as well as one-on-one, I am a firm believer in the benefit that one-on-one and small group instruction can offer for students. As a teacher, I love being able to identify and capitalize on students' interests and strengths. I believe that all students can learn, and fully embrace and utilize the concepts of learning styles and multiple intelligences to help all students find success, regardless of the area of study.
I have been involved in offering educational services since I was in high school, when I tutored younger students in math, Spanish, research writing, and general elementary subjects. A career in education was a natural choice, and I have taught both ESL and Spanish, with experience in elementary and secondary teaching, as well as teaching online.

I like working with children and young people very much. I believe that teaching should always be student-centered. It is my goal to find what helps a person to learn and really work with that student's natural talent and personality. I am very patient and persistent. If necessary, I think it is okay to repeat information until the student is comfortable and confident that they have learned it. I am a good communicator, and I appreciate feedback from others as well. I am always willing to adjust my style to accommodate a student's learning style.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy tutoring children one on one. Many children have difficulties in school because of low confidence levels, which are reinforced in the classroom by very little individual attention. I believe the more comfortable a child feels in her/his learning environment, the easier she/he will learn. As a tutor, I try to ease academic pressure by developing a relaxed, supportive relationship with the student. I emphasize the positive, stronger aspects of their work, and attempt to highlight instances in which the child teaches me. In this way the child confidently confronts learning obstacles without fear of criticism. It is amazing how quickly children advance when they have an exceptional relationship with their teacher. I was a "Master Tutor" of Mathematics and Physics at BSU during my undergraduate studies, qualified to tutor all levels of Mathematics from arithmetic thru vector calculus, differential equations and linear algebra as well as serving as the only official Physics tutor employed thru the university - all of which constituted 20+ hours of drop-in-center tutoring per week. Additionally I provided independent tutoring to students from middle school thru college on a weekly basis as well as proctoring Physics laboratory classes and serving in a substitute role when needed for college level Physics courses.
