An accomplished concert pianist, singer and writer, Mytch received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2014, under the private instruction of Dr. Stephen R. Allen. She has also had extensive study of the French language and has served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York City (Spanish speaking). I have been involved in offering educational services since I was in high school, when I tutored younger students in math, Spanish, research writing, and general elementary subjects. A career in education was a natural choice, and I have taught both ESL and Spanish, with experience in elementary and secondary teaching, as well as teaching online.
Having taught small and large classes, as well as one-on-one, I am a firm believer in the benefit that one-on-one and small group instruction can offer for students. As a teacher, I love being able to identify and capitalize on students' interests and strengths. My teaching philosophy is based on how children learn. I believe that children learn in diffrent ways, and I can help them meet these needs by making modificaitons and accommodations to any subject. I also believe that children need to explore in order to gain an in depth learning experience. I also believe that social interaction, is an important element to learning.

For two years, I was an education supervisor at the Hawaii Job Corps, and it was my job to ensure that the students' academic needs were being met. I excelled at that job, but had to leave as I moved back to the mainland. I worked as both a tutor and a teacher for many years (10) and loved my career. I enjoy tutoring children one on one. Many children have difficulties in school because of low confidence levels, which are reinforced in the classroom by very little individual attention. I believe the more comfortable a child feels in her/his learning environment, the easier she/he will learn. As a tutor, I try to ease academic pressure by developing a relaxed, supportive relationship with the student. I emphasize the positive, stronger aspects of their work, and attempt to highlight instances in which the child teaches me. In this way the child confidently confronts learning obstacles without fear of criticism. It is amazing how quickly children advance when they have an exceptional relationship with their teacher.
