A Little Bit About Me...

I would like to get to know the person(s) that I am tutoring before we begin work. I want them to be comfortable around me and to be able to ask me any qestion with no hestations. I like to balance out their strengths and weaknesses so the learner won't get discouraged when facing something new.
I am a current high school student. I am completely and have completed Honors and AP courses in Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Language. It depends on the student and what they are doing. If all they need is practice, then I will let the student do all of the work, interjecting only to give advice or to correct a mistake if the student does not catch it themselves. If needed, I will work out similar problems. If the student needs help understanding, I first go in depth why it works and why you do what you do. I then give concrete examples to demonstrate it so that the why makes sense and comes together with the actual application. Then I have the student practice to make sure they truly understand. If needed, I will become creative and come up with different ways of looking at problems so that they can make sense. But no matter what I try to have fun.
