I have been tutoring for over 8 years. I have also started youth tutoring programs since 2007. I have taught algebra, organic chemistry, physics, and other core mathematics and chemistry classes. Although I have taught in group settings, I prefer to tutor no more than three students at a time. I have taught grades from 6th grade all the way up to sophomore college level.

I have been tutoring at Forsyth Technical Community College since September 2008. I work on average, over the 5 years, 15 hours a week, but now working 21 hours a week since I am now out of school. I have done private tutoring for about 3 years now, either with people from met from school or from tutoring. I got a BS in both Mathematics and Computer Science in May of 2013. I have left the corporate after 18 years to pursue teaching. I have two bachelors degrees in physics & mech. engineering. I want to put these to use and make an impact on kids in my community. I have been pursuing a lateral teaching entry position, while substituting. I am mentoring with a local teacher and have finished a course in effective teaching. I am tutoring at my church and reading education material, along with boning up on science material.
I am by nature an encourager. I am optimistic every child can learn -- the trick is to spark an interest in the subject and communicate the material to them in an understandable way.
