I have not tutored publicly before, but have tutored friends children/ family members for standardized tests such as the high school history and english statewide tests. I have tutored 5+ people in college algebra (all earning A's) as well as helped high school students with algebra. I am probably best at writing papers and reading comprehension type tasks. Because I have little experience, I would be willing to take reduced pay for a couple of sessions to assess if you feel I am helping your child, and then we could set a more formal agreement. Math has always been my favorite subject to tutor because I am a problem-solver, by nature. Whenever one of my students has difficulty understanding a math problem, I take it from a different approach and once they understand the concept and that “light-bulb comes on,” I get over-whelmed with excitement….I’ve gotten through to them!
