French is one of my top subjects! I speak nearly fluent French. I have been studying it since 2005.

I was a tutor in High School to the AVID students, I also volunteer tutored while attending junior college. I have experience helping mostly high school students but I feel comfortable and I am experienced enough to help middle school and elementary school children. I was also a nanny for close to 2 years and during that time, I tutored a teen who has Autism in all school subjects and was successful in helping her raise her grades and be able to study independently.
I am very hands on. I prefer to assess my students needs and then approach the subject to the area they specifically need help in. I have a lot of patience and am not afraid to spend a lot of time working on one or two things. If I can find a way, I like to make tutoring of studying a game or find easy ways to help my student(s) remember things better. Fun learning in my opinion, is the best way to learn.

Children are a great source of knowledge and very bright. I prefer to present a subject of study, encourage original thought, and refrain as much as possible from talking at them. I enjoy watching young imaginations expand. I believe a greater understading comes with a hands-on aproach. Teaching should be fun and creative, and adaptive to each personality.
In college I held a double major in English/French. I am an American by birth, but my formative years were spent in the French-speaking cultures of Haiti and Martinique. After earning my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Mathematics in 1990 from the California State University at Stanislaus, I entered the credential program. In the credential program at C.S.U. Stanislaus, I became well prepared for all the nuances besides teaching that goes with being a teacher.
