As a graduate of Sociology I have gained a lot of knowledge about how society functions. I was interested in this area of study to understand peoples because I have always had compassion for others. I have participated in a 4 unit class where i taught Spanish to 8-11 year old children and it consisted of developing a plan that included songs and dancing to learn Spanish in a fun and animated way. I have done research on homelessness, and had an internship with a non profit that provides social services for those in need. I am a firm believer that each and every student has equal ability to succeed in their academic pursuits. Not only does a good teacher educate the child, but they also motivate the student to further pursue academic achievements.
