For Science and Math I employ an inquiry-based method of teaching/exploration. This allows for more meaningful learning and gives the student the opportunity to learn on his or her own before being given instruction by the teacher. This method is aligned with the STEM initiative in the United States. For Language Arts, reading, and Spanish, I teach by individualizing instruction to each child, allowing for meaning-making and communication rather than simply rote learning of facts and vocabulary. I have been preparing and conducting adult coursework for a variety of computer - based applications and software for 15 or more years. The courses were done in large lecture environments (30 or more at a time) and also small or individuals sessions, and remote (phone and web-ex) deliveries. I am experienced in assessing group attitude and individual needs and am told that I am very adept at putting my "students" at ease, both through delivery style and in customizing and breaking down the materials for the particular person or group. I then taught in a pull-out RSP program in 4th and 5th grade ,1/2 time and a high school push-out RSP program the rest of the day. I have also taught 3rd grade.
