At this point, one might wonder why I would be interested in tutoring when my education is in the accounting world. Reading is fundamental. Once one learns how to read more effectively, then all other subjects become easier. Once again my students have consistently scored well on standardized tests. My style of tutoring is creative flexibility. I assess the student's learning style and try to adapt to that, using different senses (kinetic, aural, oral) to trigger best responses. However, this is layered over a basic multi-part structure suited to the subject. I also like to set up a schedule of what our hour will be like, with some beginning exercises (usually recall from previous session). The rest of the hour would be structured with student input as much as possible. At the end, I like to introduce some free time to talk about the lesson and about any new ideas.
