As a graduate of a small junior college I believe one on one teaching gives students the advantage over a large group because the child can receive the necessary attention for learning skills in reading, writing and math. Many children learn differently some are visual learners,some are audio etc. I have been instructed through various techniques in reading with chilldren that will help them achieve a higher reading level of success. As a soon to be graduate of the Counseling program, I hold education to the highest level. I have also earned a bachelors degree in psychology, which has given me an important background in my study of counseling. I have had a lot of general education classes which give me a broad area of study. I have never been a teacher, but I do have a younger sibling. I would like to say that although I have never tutored directly, I do have experience in helping others in many of their life areas including school. I am a driven individual who has obtained a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare in addition to a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. While attending graduate school I worked as a substitute teacher which allowed me to gain experience working with children of various ages and levels. I enjoy working with children and families and being able to positively impact and enrich their lives. For the past 7 years I have taught psycho-educational groups, in my most recent place of employment I worked hands on with young adults helping them develop independent living skills.
