As a graduate of a small junior college I believe one on one teaching gives students the advantage over a large group because the child can receive the necessary attention for learning skills in reading, writing and math. Many children learn differently some are visual learners,some are audio etc. I have been instructed through various techniques in reading with chilldren that will help them achieve a higher reading level of success. As an unerdergraduate at Mississippi State University, I majored in geosciences with and emphasis on forecasting; that is meteorology.I served eight years with the army national guard and completed a year tour of Iraq. While in the national guard I learned valuable leadership skills and how to teach others to preform military tasks. While working on my geosciences degree I took several upper level mathematics courses including trigonometry, college algebra, and calculus. In addition to these courses, I took upper level writing courses such as geowriting and english composition level two. My bachelors degree has taught me much about earth science and minor chemistry. I am a driven individual who has obtained a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare in addition to a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. While attending graduate school I worked as a substitute teacher which allowed me to gain experience working with children of various ages and levels. I enjoy working with children and families and being able to positively impact and enrich their lives.
