I am a naturally curious person who has always loved words, and spends a good deal of time reading and writing. I graduated from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) in 1984 with a degree in mathematics. Since then, I have held a number of teaching positions in private secondary schools and colleges. I have taught the following subjects: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I&II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. I have also tutored many students in those subjects (references available). I currently substitute teach in the mathematics department at Bangor High School on a fairly regular basis. As a current graduate student I have had the opportunity to learn a great deal about the effective techniques and skills it takes for one to succeed within the classroom.
