A Little Bit About Me...

As an Application Engineer for a research company, it was my resposaability to train, instruct and give seminars on the material currently in vogue in Semiconductor, Biology, Physics, and Geology in materials to be analyzed. These seminars were meant to instruct and inform researchers of the techniques available. Most seminars were at colleges and universities in the U.S. and overseas. I began to wind down my travels and explored the potential of teaching locally. For the past three years I have been a substitute teacher in Tuolumne County district as well as 4 seminars every year.
I had no intention of teaching when I started my career in Psychology and the Analytical Chemistry industry. People are always surprised when they find out I'm a math nerd. I'm outgoing, I like to joke and I play sports. But believe it or not, I actually do enjoy math and this is one of the biggest reasons for my success as a tutor/teacher. I don't fake my enthusiasm and this helps engage students. I like to think of myself as fun and I like to make a joke here and there. I believe that a lot of times, less is more when it comes to teaching math. I try to do as little leading as possible when helping students solve problems so that they will be best equipped in the future to solve on their own.
