My comments on tutoring Vocals : I specialize in jazz vocal techniques and pop and folk techniques.

I am a life-long teacher with a passion for working with students of all ages and abilities. I have been teaching clarinet for over 35 years and I have been teaching voice for five years. I have a bachelors in clarinet performance and I have studied voice for about 20 years. I have been an active jazz vocalist and clarinetist for over 30 years, performing for private functions, public events and everything in between. I have been an early childhood music educator for nearly 20 years and I have been teaching clarinet privately for 30 years as well as working with area band directors to assist then with their clarinet sections. My style of teaching, whether it is children in church classes, those studying for high school, or executives in training, relies very much on meticulous preparation and personalization to those learning. I'm extremely patient, can very quickly put people at ease. This makes for more effective learning. My style of teaching, rather than overtly teaching students new things, builds on what they already know, and applying it to different situations. As a continuing education graduate in Spanish, Dance and Human Resource Development I have received education in teaching methods as well as on hand experience. I taught dance for three years to ages 6-18, taught biblical studies and music to ages 3-13 for 1 year and volunteered through my social organization as a tutor in an underpriviledged community school for 1 year. I have experience in tutoring math, spanish, english and computers.
I am patient and love for children to "get it". I beleive in repetition as the best method for learning. Whether through song or academic knowledge I beleive when placed in the right environment and with the right resources every child can and will learn, grow and achieve.
