My comments on tutoring Biology : I got my Bachelor's in Microbiology from one of the famous University in my country, back home.I am really interested about biology stuff and I would like to share my knowledge with anybody wants to know about biology.I think there are amazing things about biology that make you keep learning it.

I have worked as a Lab.Techniques.Our duties was collecting samples like Urine,Blood, body liquid like CSF and subculturing them.Gram Staining, antibiogram test and providing media culture were the things I have done.Knowing about the bacteria that cause illness and their life situation was important to us. When I was at high school I was a teacher assistance.I helped students to understand biology stuff.

More About This Tutor...

I like to be interactive- when I'm teaching I prefer to work through a problem with a student together the first time, letting the student more or less watch me. The second time through, we approach the problem with a little more weight placed on the student. The third time I ask the student to attempt the problem on his/her own, and I'm available for questions.
I have tutored classmates and friends throughout college and after in science and math disciplines. My younger sister struggled in school and I assisted her with all disciplines from grades K-12. I studied Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University and got my degree in four years. Classes I took included four semesters of calculus, including multivariable and differential equations, two semesters of physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, and several chemical engineering specific classes. I feel comfortable with mo ... read more

Biology is one of my top subjects! BA in Biology- Health professions concentration

As the second oldest of six kids I have a lot of at-home experience in tutoring. With a BA in Biology I feel very equipped to teach children in sciences. I have taken Anatomy, Physiology, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and every other major science. I intend on taking one year off before attending medical school. If your child needs help in any basic math or any level of science then I'd love to see if I could be a good tutoring fit for him/her. God bless!

Having a general science degree at the secondary level (6-12), I have the ability and the opportunity to teach several “core” science courses such as chemistry, physics, physical science, and biology to different grades at the high school level. Over the past six years, I had the opportunity to collaborate with other educators to organize and develop scientific projects such as science fair, field trips, and other community-related activities that encouraged and facilitated parental involvement while developing students’ communication and leadership skills.
An important goal of teaching science is to help students apply their knowledge in new and different situations. Students are expected to apply their skills and knowledge to new situations and context. My teaching strategies provide a sequence of activities that helps students move from situations of familiarity to novelty. This ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a B.S. in environmental science and a concentration in sociology and anthropology. I have served as the editorial assistant for the Applied Environmental Education and Communications journal for the last year and a half. I have also worked as a research assistant in the West Office Chair of Excellence in Communications and Public Relations under Dr. David Sachsman. After earning an alternative teaching license this spring, I plan on teaching biology, ecology, and/or environmental science in Chattanooga. In addition, I am working to develop an education and service-based environmental group for children in this area.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to help children understand a subject better. It is a great feeling to see a student get the idea after being helped. I believe that every student is capable of learning; it all depends on their learning style. In my masters program and while I have been teaching, I have learned many ways to get students engaged in the material they are learning. Some students learn better with one on one and some do better with group work. You just have to try different approaches until you see which one works best. Sometimes it just depends on what is being taught. If you show interest in the student he/she will show more interest in your class or subject area and do better.

A Little Bit About Me...

I find that the best way to tutor my students is to find out what they are struggling with the most in a subject and then helping them with the basics in that subject. I work with the student on the basics and then build up to more difficult material. I am patient with students of all ages. I believe that knowing the basics of a subject is always important. In college, I always had to know the basics to build on that knowledge. It can take some time to start at the bottom, but it's worth having the permanent knowledge over learning it short term just to pass the test.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a born teacher, and come from a family full of them. For better or worse for those around me, I am always ready to help with research skills and writing, reading comprehension, assimilating mass amounts of information into a comprehensible format (with/for my coworkers and friends). I believe that anyone is capable of mastering standardized tests as well as any task thrown at them by the most grueling of professors. I believe in starting with the basic building blocks, making sure that those are mastered first, while allowing a student to create their own ideas and reach farther than the assignment dictates as they become ready. Everyone, children and young adults, can amaze themselves when given the right tools to accomplish an educational goal. It's not the students who succeed easily that make a lasting impression, but the ones who struggle mightily to get through a basic fi ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Originally, in college, I was an Education major but, the hours required by the education department for Biology seemed meager. So I switched my major to Biology and graduated in the summer of 2009. I thoroughly enjoyed tutoring my peers in college in the general biology courses. I also would take it upon myself to find more information to study from for specific classes and share this with my other classmates so that everyone would do well, instead of keeping it for myself.
I love tutoring anyone who is of high school or college age. I firmly believe that when a student doesn't understand something in one way, present it in a different way so that the concept may be understood in a different way. Everyone has a different learning style so evolving the technique to meet the individuals need is paramount. I prefer to have a more hands-on approach so that the understanding of informa ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Since I remember my days as a student, I am very patient with students who’ve never been exposed to certain subjects or materials. I believe you can only move onto more complex areas after you have gained a thorough understanding of the basics. I prefer to use real-world examples to illustrate abstract concepts. In areas like mathematics and physics, I teach students methods of how to solve problems, not just to come up with the right answer. These methods can then be used in other disciplines or applied to their later lives.
