I have 20+ years of real world business IT experience. Most of that was programming on IBM iSeries/AS400 mini computers in RPG or COBOL. The last 6 or 7 years has been devoted to learning HTML & PHP in my spare time. The languages aren't important, what is key is learning to break complex tasks down into smaller chunks and think logically about how to link all these smaller tasks into a program to accomplish the overall goal. Starting in high school, I began to tutor grade school and middle school students through an after-school honors program.
