Experience Summary
The unique feature in my qualification and background: strong knowledge and credentials in a variety of subjects.
Some computer sciences courses (pre-requisites and MS courses in computer science, plus more): capable in tutoring high school (K-12) and college freshman MATH, Programming Logic, C++, Java … Had direct experience at UNC – Greensboro.
Native language: Standard Mandarin Chinese; enable me to teach at any levels (read/write, spoken).
MSc. in biotech, BSc. in Marine Zoology: make me very potent in tutoring biology, and wide areas of general sciences: Environmental study, chemistry, physics ……;
Since 2000, I have been P/T tutor (on-and-off) in the above subjects. With the advantage of working at a locally well known college, Univ. of Tenn. at Knoxville, I am ready and would love to obtain more opportunities to help more students in their studies.
Teaching Style
With the solid belief that teaching is the true engineering on human’s souls …… the enjoyment of helping a student to overcome an obstacle in his / her study is beyond the joy of anything else ……, I love teaching / tutoring.
The unique style in my teaching is that I try to use examples from daily life all the time to stimulate student's interests, enthusiasm, and will to conquer the questions / obstacles. In such a concrete illustrating way, students will feel that they can “touch” an abstract concept, “materialize” a logic/computing process into their vision …… I am very patient and easy going person.
