I believe that every student can learn more than they think

I am a laid back type of instructor and use my experience and intuition to create unique learning environments for each student. I like students to express themselves in their studies, and I encourage each student to express their natural gifts. I have a creative mind which allows me to relate to many types of students and many subjects and to use student's natural interests as a starting point for learning new material.
I have taught for over 30 years in a variety of institutions, but mostly public schools. Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate. Many of the students I trained were sent by their employers. So often, the student’s frame of mind wasn’t the most open to the learning experience.
