I believe all children are capable of learning. We need to adjust to help everyone learn. Student- centered learning and constructivism are key components in student learning. Once again, my personal belief of education is "You only get out what you put in".
I have taught for a total of 11 years. I taught in Prince George's Public schools for 5 years, Hyde Leadership Public Charter School in DC for 1 year, Avon Park High School for 2 years, Hardee Junior High for 1 year, and Bill Duncan Opportunity Center (alternative school) for 2 years. The last four years I have tutored at risk teenagers for a NY public school district. I also tutored privately. In NY I was a substitute teacher for K-12 which gave me experience in the different subject levels pursuant to each grade. Prior to NY, I was employed by Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida where I taught both 8th grade and 9th grade classes. I currently hold a temporary certificate with Florida and am finishing my Master's. On a walk-in basis, I have acted as a mentor and tutor to inner city youth in Columbus, OH at the Boys and Girls' Club Milo Grogan Unit. I have taught alongside my mother in Sunday School classes since I was in middle school, which has given me a love for teaching and working one-on-one with students. A Little Bit About Me...

Over the last three years I have worked in Hillsborough County as a Middle School Science Teacher. After three years of teaching Science I had a strong desire to work with ESE and Special Needs children so I became a Sub for Hillsborough County so I could travel where need and work with various children.
