My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I am in the process of becoming an elementary school teacher, therefore I am familiar with the lesson plans within K-5th grade.

I would say my teaching style is really focused on the student and what they need. In school I was an average student never getting lower than a C or higher than in an A. So I really want to focus on listening to the student, especially because they probably are not heard at school. I want to make each subject interesting to the student, whether that means going out and playing basketball or chess or candy or anything the student absolutely loves. I want to attach each subject to a good memory, I don't want to pressure them or push them to just memorize facts that I know they will probably forget after they are tested. From my own personal experience I want any student I tutor to turn around and actually enjoy learning about a subject they are having trouble with.

An experienced tutor who knows how to make learning fun!

My teaching style is playful. Students respond best when tutoring doesn't seem like work. As much as possible I turn lessons into games, taking what would be boring and making it fun.
I have over four years of experience as a reading tutor, two years as a behavioral assistant tutoring an autistic child in language, math, and reading, and am currently tutoring students in basic math and reading.
