Patience is one word to describe my teaching style. My main objective is to work with students on goal-setting and then concentrate on how to meet those goals. My teaching experience includes several semesters of substitute teaching, and tutoring locally for 2+ years as a part-time job, dirived from volunteering as a tutor for family members and friends. As a tutor, it is my job to help students with whatever it is they are struggling in and turn their struggles to successes. I specialize in working with those who want to become better readers - comprehension, fluence, vocabulary, phonics and spelling are all key to becoming a better reader.

I have no certification or degree, but am working on my Associate's Degree in English before transferring to University to complete a Bachelor's and then a Master's Degree to teach high school level English. A composition requires the following: title, topic sentence, introductory paragraph, the body and the conclusion. The body requires smooth transitional leads in sentences from one paragraph to another. A composition can require several drafts and may require three days or more depending what grade the student is in. I have written many compositions some as many as 30 pages long and some on a single page. I was contracted with the Clark County School District to tutor students in the No Child Left Behind Program in January-May 2012. I worked as a school based counselor/tutor for schools in Seattle Washinton. I have a Master's degree in Psychology.I am still tutoring K-5. I also tutor adults that want to learn English.
