A Little Bit About Me...

In graduate school, my teaching work included leading discussion and lab sections in organic and general chemistry. Duties included preparing and delivering presentations, review of class concepts and homework problems, and office hour help sessions to ensure student understanding and success passing tests. More recently, I developed and delivered customized curriculum centered on drug discovery and genomics topics targeted to biotechnology professionals. I am currently teaching an all online class that I developed, “Genomic sequencing technologies”, with UC San Diego extension.

As a tutor, my goal will be to improve understanding of and appreciation for the subject matter, in addition to providing tools for effective self-study. After spending 20 years in school, I have learned how to study for just about anything. My undergraduate experience was weighted equally between the science classes necessary for entry into veterinary school, and my passion for the written word, which I pursued through the Oregon State University Honor's college. Veterinary school reinforced my knowledge in all the life sciences, in addition to honing my study skills.
