A Little Bit About Me...

As a soon-to-be graduate of Oberlin College, I understand the importance of education. I am an East Asian Studies major and Creative Writing minor, so I have extensive experience in writing analytic papers about Japanese culture and original stories. I'd be willing to provide some writing samples upon request. In addition, I was a tutor of Reading, French and Japanese throughout my years of high school and college, so I have experience in those subjects as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent Bachelor of Arts graduate with a double major in Philosophy and Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham Park, NJ. During the latter part of my college experience, I began teaching in K-12 classrooms. Quickly and suddenly, I realized that I was going to make teaching a career, both because of the personal satisfaction it gave me and because of my effect on the students. Since then, I have been assiduously exploring avenues to increase my classroom experience and competency.
My personal teaching philosophy is that there is no teaching without learning. I believe that asking questions is the best way to learn. I encourage all my students to really think about why something is the way it is and not to be afraid of asking questions. I find that having an open line of communication really helps to foster a nurturing atmosphere.
I was a teaching assistant for two years at a college level. I had over 160 students and loved interacting with them all. I have two bachelor's degrees from the University of Miami, one in Economics and one in Anthropology.
