I strongly believe that all mathematical and statistical concepts can be explained and illustrated by the appropriate example. If a student understands how a certain statistical problem looks like in a small example, he or she will be able to describe the problem and the solution in an abstract formulation as well. I put a lot of effort in finding easy examples and then proceed in as little steps as necessary to the more abstract formulation. Also, I make sure to take the student with me on every of these steps. If tutor and student find the right pace, math and statistics can become a fascinating journey.

Each child has a different learning ability. The best way I feel for success of a child would be a one to one or small group teaching style. This will provide the teacher to student kind of relationship where the teacher may know the level of each student. My teaching style is very Socratic. I rarely give answers to students. I love to have them search and discover the answers on their own. A Little Bit About Me...

I double majored in Biology and English with a Bachelor of Science degree from a very well known, highly esteemed University in Wisconsin. I went to Taiwan for two months from March-May 2010 and helped teach in a "Bushiban" or cram school to kids aged 6-15. I am currently looking for a full-time job relating to my degree.
Conversational. From what I learned in Taiwan little kids are not for me. This is the truth. Kids at about 14 or 15 and older are much preferred. I don't think I am animated enough for younger children...well, not a GROUP of younger children anyway. When it comes to one on one though, it is much different I am sure. I like to give ideas on how to sound out words, remember grammar/math tricks and things like that.
