At 21 years old I am a performer and have 30+ credits of stage, film, radio and television performances. I have been singing and dancing my whole life, studying from world class instructors, such as Mark Yonally, Catherine McDaniel, Kathleen Clawson, Delreen Hafenrichter, Wendy Barker, and others. I have studied music education, theatre, voice and dance at Oklahoma City University as well as the University of New Mexico. Students need to be equipped with the research skills and ability to fetter out information from a number of different sources. The information must be timely, accurate, credible, relevant, etc. The days of going to a library and pulling volumes of texts to research substantive information has changed. Now, most students understand what a Boolean search is. However, many don’t know much beyond the internet. This is both an imperative skill as a successful student, and as a potential graduate seeking employment.
