I am a recently retired special education teacher with 27 years classroom experience. I am currently a substitute teacher in the public schools. Since graduating from college, I have pursued further education through supplemental education. While working, I have attended classes in the evenings to keep current with teaching trends, practical classroom skills and the social-emotional needs of children in learning. For 8 years, I was an instructional assistant, but also substituted and served as an after school tutor. For the past 5 years, I have been a pre-school teacher with Migrant Head Start. Spanish was the home language of all the students in the classroom and, as teachers, we used both languages. I feel qualified to teach pre-K or first grade Spanish speaking children and to teach Spanish to pre-K or first grade English speaking children.
