I have helped tutor many young students through the Pirate 21 program at my school (Berea Community) and can help with a wide range of academic and extra curricular needs, such as vocal training or a drama couch, as well as a core content tutor. I work best with pre-school, kindergarten, and first graders and have had lots of experience with Spanish speaking children. I consider myself a hands-on teacher. I believe that all children can excel in the right learning environment when given opportunity to experience and experiment with learning tools. I love using music to teach reading and math. Most children just need someone to be kind, patient and understanding. I am a kinesthetic learner myself, so I have found that when a child can use their five senses and involve their whole being, learning comes much more easily and quickly.
