During my career in the pharmaceutical industry, I conducted several training classes and often prepared all of the training materials and class content. Beginning in 1998, I was hired by Cuesta College of San Luis Obispo as a part time instructor. In that capacity, I have taught a variety of subjects including Accounting, English as a second language, Spanish, Italian, Quickbooks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Computer usage for Senior Citizens, and Personal Income Tax Preparation. For four years, I served as a Spanish instructor for the GATE program of the City of Atascadero. I believe that when students develop a certain level of self confidence, learning comes easier. I place great importance on a student's learning style. While at the California Science Center, where I worked as a science exhibit developer for six years, I learned the value of a constructivist approach to learning.
