My comments on tutoring Grammar : I will assist students with learning parts of speach,diagraming sentances, correcting run on sentances or sentance fragments,proper use of tense and all other aspects of grammar

I work best in one on one or small groups. I am capable with larger groups as well. My favorite approach is the Charlotte Mason approach. I have worked with a wide variety of Educational Philosophies/Methods and will draw from them when needed.
I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings. These settings include working in the public schools With Educable Mentally Challenged students,Multilingual classrooms and several self contained elementary classes.I have taught in educational cooperatives, Homeschooled my own children up to college and tutored. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Grammar like spelling needs a good foundation to build one's skills. Written as well as verbal skills are the tools that everyone needs to advance to their own goals. The importance of adjectives, adverbs, present and past tenses for verbs. A good place for mastering these skills is middle school.

I have worked in several different types of industries from hotels, restaurants, travel, mortgage companies, transportation, banks, theater, real estate and other primarily service businesses. Most of my interests lie in the financial and accounting parts of these businesses because of the importance of not only being able to present an accurate picture of the company's condition at only one time, but also to make sure that there were no mistakes, thefts being covered up, or other discrepancies. Very large companies have had loans go bad due to the improper accounting of transactions by the business owners.
My teaching style needs to respond to the needs of the individual. There are several styles of learning so I need to understand the individual to best know how to teach them the skills they need to pass the course.

I have currently earned a bachelors degree, BS Physics, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. While doing research I was able to learn more in the areas of biology and math, while also taking biology classes at a community college in San Diego. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. While studying Physics at Iowa State University, I first discovered my love for teaching and tutoring and have been doing it almost continuously since then. I worked for the ISU Academic Success Center helping groups of 1-4 students learn calculus and calculus-based physics for 3 semesters. My experience has been in training staff in accounting and tutoring nephews and nieces in school. I tutored my niece, Amanda, who was a D- student in math. She believed she was not smart enough. With my tutoring her to look at math differently, she improved her grades to an A. Even the teacher was quite surprised at the quick turnaround. Her fear of subjects, especially math, shut her off from learning.
