A Little Bit About Me...

I believe there are multiple learning styles. One of my goals as a teacher is to find each students' learning style and teach to fit their needs. I believe that practice makes perfect but also that learning needs to be fun. I set the bar high for my students and do my best to help motivate them to reach a high standard.
In college I was a nanny to three middle school students for two years. While being their nanny I was also their tutor in all subjects but focused on math. I graduated from SJSU with a major in History and a minor in Mathematics. I substitute taught in January and February 2007 then was a long-term substitute from March until the end of May in a sixth grade math, science, and history combination class. For the past two years I have taught eighth grade Algebra. While teaching I have also tutored a sixth grade student in math.

I love what I do for a living. I love teaching and coaching and have always wanted to be a teacher. I believe all childeren can learn given the opportunity. I believe students have their own unique intelligences and learning styles. My work experience has been as the Controller in turn-around situations, manufacturing, distribution and agriculture operations as well as small family operated construction and retail companies.
