My comments on tutoring GED : I have been helping students pass the GEDs for over 8 years. I have worked for large test prep companies in the past. I have worked with many school districts offering affordable GED tutorial sessions.

Most tutors merely act as a solutions manual for off the shelf test prep books. I believe in providing my students a fully comprehensive curricula that covers both strategy and subject matter. Every student learns differently and at their own pace. I strongly believe in diagnosing and targeting student's weak areas.
I have enjoyed tutoring since high school. During college, I tutored college level math and chemistry. After college I worked for a large test prep company teaching SAT prep courses in various high schools. I stated tutoring privately and through the college when I was a student myself to see if teaching was something I wanted to do as a career. I tutored all my college years and realized that this is exactly what I want to wake up for every day. I earned my BS and single subject in Mathematics from Fresno State University. For the past 7 years I have limited my assignments to "Home/Hospital". I meet 5 hours per week with each student to provide complete instruction in all subject areas for the student(s) unable to be in the regular classroom setting due to illness. It is very much a tutoring situation as 5 hours per week is not nearly enough to provide the detailed instruction available on a daily basis.
