While working in a very prestigious school in Quito, I was granted a scholarship as an exchange teacher in the United States with the AFS visiting teacher program, and it was the best experience in my life. My job was to teach Spanish to High School students and visit other school to talk about my country and culture. After my return from the United States, I decided to go abroad again to study. Laid-back, speech-focused. Although I am an expert and grammar and understanding grammar by relating it to English, I am a firm believer that simply speaking the language using subjects the student is interested in is the best way to learn and retain a language. My comments on tutoring Spanish : I minored in Spanish in College. I can teach the basics all the way up to Spanish III.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking.
