I tailor my teaching style to the student. I believe that the lesson should be based on the learner and not the preference of the teacher. Repetition is good for learning; therefore, the use of various teaching methods are employed in order to maximize the information retained and learned by the individual student. More About This Tutor...

I like to teach using everyday life experiences and things that are relative to the tutee. One can read MacBeth and other writers from the past and still be motivated to learn. I don't believe in memorization because that is not learning. I want the child to carry his newly learned knowledge well into his future and always have it available in the back of his mind. It should not be forgotten but built upon. It's like building a brick wall, one brick at a time. It does take time but when that final brick is put in place, what a masterpiece!
As a graduate of Jacksonville University, I feel I received an excellent education and want to give back to the community. I enjoy teaching to the utmost level. I know my strengths lie primarily in students who are of the kindergarten through fourth grade levels. I feel students should have the opportunity to be themselves and is why I enforce a learning enviornment that is condusive to being independent learners.
