I have an extensive teaching career in the field of Biology that includes different educational levels. I am currently teaching Biology courses at college level. As a complement of my experience, and since all my education was gotten in a Spanish-speaking country, I am perfectly fluent in Spanish language. I authored and coauthored scientific publications and books written in Spanish language as well. My main goal as an Educator is to expose students to the most current knowledge in biology while at the same time assisting them in the process of developing critical thinking skills. I have a variety of degrees and specialties but math is my strong suite. I have tutored friends with great results. I have helped people in math classes ranging from simple math to statistics and even college level math. I love math and English and I also love working with people of all ages and teaching them to love math as well. I feel that teachers make things more complicated than they need to be and I am great at simplifying explanations for people. I use a white board when teach people because I find people get less stressed out when working with a problem if there is less scribbles on the paper. I also have a strong belief that it only takes one good example to understand the problem so I give the people I tutor one really good generic example of the topic and tell them to copy it down and refer to that example often and I find that it helps a lot.

During my last four years I have been given several opportunities to interact and educate students of all ages. Working with the Upward Bound Program I tutored high school students in various subjects. As a varsity basketball player I was frequently in charge of teaching the sport's fundamental skills necessary to younger children. While this kind of education differs from one received in the classroom, I believe that the objective is similar in that students are being taught essential elements of a subject. My bachelors degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry give me adequate knowledge on the material and my grammatical skills have been shaped by the numerous research papers and reports I have written.
