Experience Summary
During 38 years of high school teaching I have taught standard, college prep and honors courses in science, math and video production. This includes general science, physical science, biology, and physics; general math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2/trig, pre-calculus, calculus and IMP (Interactive Math Program); and video production. I completed training for Advanced Placement course: Statistics, Calculus B and Physics B. For the last 2 years I have taught in an Independent Study program teaching all academic departments and curricular levels with special emphasis in Mathematics and Science. For the last year I have working as an online teacher Aventa Learning teaching AP Statistics, AP Physics and AP Calculus.
Teaching Style
While attending Junior High School, I decided to teach-particularly mathematics. I believe that every student can learn and that most problems come from not have a solid background and/or not finding a way of learning the particular subject. There are a variety of ways of learning, and each student and even each subject requires analysis and implementation and each student is individually important. I strive not only to provide instruction in particular courses but also to teach students how to learn on their own. I believe that each individual's future is either restricted or broadened by her or his education and my job is to open horizons for students..
