I love every aspect of music. I am a self taught guitarist as were Roy Clark and BB King. I learned on an old wooden guitar my dad found. I have played since I was nine. I would watch the neighbor boys play because they had lessons and I didn't. My experience includes playing contemporary Christian music with my church praise band. I played for the United H.S. production of "Grease". I also worked with the Salem H.S. Jazz Band and mentored students for a Musical Production. I am currently playing in the band, Uptown Saturday Night. We play music from the 60's through the 70's and are taking my area by storm. Learning is always easier when it is fun and interesting. In any given teaching situation I look for ways to add zest to learning. At the outset of tutoring I do an assessment of where students are currently achieving in a specific subject area, and identify skills that they may be lacking. Next, I develop a learning plan with specific goals. This becomes the basis for a learning contract between myself and the person seeking tutoring.
