Since I have been playing a lot of years, I have developed different techniques that enable me to play faster and more clear with ease to the fingers and wrists. Playing in a band and playing every weekend has made me learn different ways to keep up with the demanding songs that we play. Knowing all the chords is ok but it makes you somewhat limited. If you can master the chords of major E, A, C, F, G, and D, then you have all the basic things you need to play. Minors come later. After these basic chords, everything will fall into place. After that, bar chording comes next. I would really enjoy teaching at the beginner and intermediate levels.

Being in college for four years exposed me to social environments that I normally wouldn't have been able to encounter on a day to day basis. Whether I was learning on my own, working with or helping fellow classmates, or even just observing how the professors worked with us, I was always learing new concepts or methods of how to interact with a wide variety of characteristics in a diverse group of people. I believe that comparing complex concepts to everyday, personal objects and situations is the most effective way to learn. Therefore, I am big on metaphors. Algebraic concepts and formulas can often be, I have found, analogous to much simpler ideas or images. Once the abstract is related to the mundane, we can break down the barrier to understanding that can be an automatic or habitual construction for many people. I am also an advocate of learning by example; I will walk through a problem or two, step by step, until the process becomes obvious. From there, equations can become identifiable patterns that essentially require you to simply "fill in the blanks".
