I love every aspect of music. I am a self taught guitarist as were Roy Clark and BB King. I learned on an old wooden guitar my dad found. I have played since I was nine. I would watch the neighbor boys play because they had lessons and I didn't. My experience includes playing contemporary Christian music with my church praise band. I played for the United H.S. production of "Grease". I also worked with the Salem H.S. Jazz Band and mentored students for a Musical Production. I am currently playing in the band, Uptown Saturday Night. We play music from the 60's through the 70's and are taking my area by storm. We play Eagles and American Legion Clubs as well as outdoor concerts and the Salem Hot Rod Super Nats to name a few.

Statistics can be off-putting for those new to the discipline, and through my extensive mentoring over the years, I have found that when teaching a concept such as "standard deviation," for example, it's best to approach it with practical examples, couching the explanation in day-to-day terms and contexts.
