Professional but friendly English ESOL teacher

Teaching experience in class environments and one-to one is over 7 years. I'm one of those lucky ones who loves their profession! I'm a friendly but demanding tutor students feel comfortable to learn with. I also speak Russian, German, some Spanish and a little bit Italian. Reading is one of my top subjects!

I tutored kids who were lagging behind the rest of the class at school as well as advanced language learners and helped them get ready for regional language contests. One of my achievements I believe is my excellent work with high school seniors to prepare for centralized testing. But the experience I value most is when my students who were performing about average gradually integrated into the rest of the class. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a hands-on, visual learner, but not everyone is the same. I am able to adapt to each child's specific learning style. If I am explaining something and the student is unable to grasp the concept, I want them to feel completely comfortable asking me to explain it in a different way. Reading is one of my top subjects! As a Title I teaching assistant, I have spent the past 5 years teaching reading skills to small groups (no more than 6 students) and one-on-one individual teaching. Learning to read and reading comprehension are vital skills for students to master in order to excel in all areas of learning.

15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have been tutoring for over 15 years both in students homes or at public locations such as coffee shops or the public library. My education and experience are broad. I was educated at "Ivy League" level schools and purposefully educated myself in a large variety of the humanities, which in essence all tie together. Basic courses up through most High School material outside of the Humanities are not difficult. I got the tools you need to succeed !

I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies.
