A Little Bit About Me...

I am a firm believer that all students can learn if given the proper tools and learning experiences. I utilize a variety of techniques and strategies to ensure my students learn to the best of their ability. I am very passionate about my students learning and very easy going. I have a great rapport with students I teach and will strive to make sure each student has the best education experience possible.
I began my teaching career by substituting and volunteering at the local schools. I then completed my degree in Middle Grades Education in Social Science. When I began teaching, I taught Reading 3 of the 5 years I taught and fell in love with it. I am currently trying to complete my Reading Endorsement and follow up with a Reading Specialist degree.

I finished my BA with concentrations in management and accounting at Troy University in 2007,then worked for three years in an Accounting Office. I left there in January 2010 to pursue my Masters in Accounting. I gained valuable experience in reading, writing and the application of mathematical formulas through working in a fast paced accounting office. I supervised one to three employees, trained them and audited their work. I have never officially tutored a student, but I have trained employees on accounting principals and how to write to the IRS and clients, as well as helping out friends and fellow students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked in the area of accounting for over 25 years. I worked my way through college while working a fulltime job and completed my degree in 2003 with enough hours to sit for the CPA exam for which I am currently studying. My work background has included all facets of the accounting industry. While completing my final few classes, I worked as a bookkeeper for one of the local accounting firms. Once my degree was completed I accepted a staff accountant position. Currently, I am employed with the State of Alabama as a Unemployment Compensation Field Deputy. I am required to perform tax audits as well as collections of reports and delinquent taxes.
