I solve problems. I am a bioanalytical chemist and biomedical engineer. My comments on tutoring Physics : Took both college-level, calculus-based, general physics courses. Topics: Newton's laws, angular motion, kinematics, inertia, momentum, electrical, magnetic, and basic concepts involving circuit boards.

All the students I tutored were either in high school or college. My topic I predominately tutor and that I most enjoy tutoring is mathematics. Tutoring is a one on one situation where I don't believe teaching style, as defined by the approach used in the class room, plays a role. Each individual learns differently, and the tutor needs to learn how to reach each of his pupils. The most important task a tutor needs to address is how to help students become self-learners. Knowledge is something you learn yourself, no one can pour it into your head. An open mind is necessary, and negative thoughts about the material and poor self-confidence are distructive. The tutor must attempt to show relevance in the subject matter, and acknowledge that weak algebra skills in solving word problems often underlie the difficulties in working problems in chemistry and physics.

I began 'teaching' as the head wakeboarding instructor at Coble Ski School in Lillington, NC, when I was a junior in high school. Shortly thereafter I took a position working at a beach resort in Pensacola, FL, where I spent an entire summer instructing surfing, kayaking and sailing.
