To develop a level of independent and automatic phonetic ability, I focus my instruction primary on phonics instructions that help beginning and struggling readers understand how letters are linked to sounds (phonemes) to form letter-sound correspondences and spelling patterns and to help them learn how to apply this knowledge in their reading. I am experienced in the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts(ELA) for 3-8th Grade. I have provided basic reading sill, reading fluency, vocabulary and phonic instruction for struggling readers in grades 3rd-8th. I have taught in the public school system for thirty-four years. I have taught Special Education students. I have taught on the elementary, middle and high school levels. I have taught the Mississippi State Curriculum and is presently teaching the Common Core State Standards for Math and English Language Arts.
