As a visual learner and instructor, I believe the best way for children to retain information is by breaking down the task itself and visualizing it in stages/phases. Often times children feel overwhelmed by the countless lessons taught inside the classroom, resulting in defeated attitudes and poor grades. I started tutoring when I was a college student. Upon my entrance to the SDSU Department of Chemistry, I was granted an opportunity to teach as a TA in Chemistry. I had been teaching for 4 years before I received my master's degree in December of 2007. In these 4 years, I always had good evaluations from students.
