Biology is one of my top subjects! BA in Biology- Health professions concentration

As the second oldest of six kids I have a lot of at-home experience in tutoring. With a BA in Biology I feel very equipped to teach children in sciences. I have taken Anatomy, Physiology, Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and every other major science. I intend on taking one year off before attending medical school. During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. A Little Bit About Me...

First I would like to get to know the student and parents, focusing mainly on the student's interests and goals as well as how they feel about the particular subject they will be tutored in. After that I would have the student show me where they currently are in class and what they need help with. Then, depending on the particular circumstances, I would create a plan to get the student caught up and self-sufficient as quickly as possible. Even though fast results are what I hope for, the student would set the pace of the sessions. No topics would be overlooked and they would all receive as much time as the student needs to master them.
