I received a BS in Computer Science, software engineering, and a minor in Mathematics. I worked for one year at the TLC, or Teaching Learning Center, where upper classmen would tutor other students taking courses they had already taken and done quite well in. I tutored mostly computer courses (programming, excel, etc), but there were also days when I was asked to tutor Calculus.
I like to start by encouraging the student to demonstrate what they know, and then give them a little nudge of guidance when they come to something that confuses them. If they're really stumped, then I try to teach them first from a conventional standpoint, then switch to a more example-based explanation. Most children who are deaf have a delay in language learning. A deaf child who uses sign language, English is not their first language. A Little Bit About Me...

During the last four years, I have spent a large amount of time working with, and around middle school and High school students. I have spent time in the classroom, worked with small groups, and spent one summer working with multiple summer camps up and down the coast. I love working with students, especially individually or in smaller groups. I also have expierence as a help desk specialist, which allows me to work with and around computers. I still don't have my times tables memorized but can demonstrate difficult fractions and imaginary numbers to others.
