My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I believe my volunteer work with children and my advanced degree in psychology are advantageous for assisting individuals with ADD and ADHD.

I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. My aspirations are to become a professor in higher education upon acquiring my Ph.D..
I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. My teaching style is to help make student's successful by understanding their learning style. I have had the good fortune of working with myriad learning styles in a special needs environment, (in the home and classroom) which runs from autistic spectrum disorder to talented and gifted. Working with this huge array of kids has really opened my eyes to a variety of learning tools to ensure success.
