I teach acoustic, electric, and bass guitar. I will teach any genre (rock, blues, punk, metal, funk, etc...) as well as beginner level to the more advanced levels. I will require students to bring their own guitar instrument, as well as a notebook of some sort for us to keep track of your progress and continue to review and get better each lesson! I have been playing guitar for 10 years, and have had a lot of experience with playing with other musicians and in shows. I have had much teaching experience as well, a couple years ago I was teaching at the local middle school, and have instructed many other musicians as well. After understanding a student's level and what their interests with guitar are, we pick out suitable music to use for lessons, as the student progresses. After a student gains a good understanding of playing a song, I like to go over various ways of playing the song to explore other kinds of expression through the guitar. With this approach, my students may learn to bring logic (technique, scales, theory) and feeling (how music is played) together. I go over beginning lead guitar with students. My students begin by exploring the use of the major and minor scale using one position, then we explore alternate positions, then we combine them.
