As a Sociology major and an accounting student at Longwood University, I was able to gain an understanding in a variety of areas from classes in business, sociology, anthropology, psychology, english, math and the sciences. I have excelled in writing financial as well as literary reports. I tutored many of my classmates while I was in college and was afforded the opportunity to substitute teach sociology when my professors were out due to illness or personal reasons. I believe that a student who lacks the basic fundamental skills in reading and mathematics will struggle to stay focused in class and continually be disruptive and ultimately stop attending school. My teaching style is consistently accommodating especially to these types of students. I like to show students that I am there for them and there isn't anything through my patience and sincerity they cannot learn. Over the past five years I have worked as a Teacher/Instructor both the the legal field and in the public school setting with students diagnosed as ED and LD as well as being displaced from the normal public school setting.
