I use a Reciprocal/Practice based tutoring style. This an effective method because it allows me to interact with the student and help them grow more efficiently while holding an open discussion environment in each lesson. I then reinforce it with practice based assignments which are followed up with reviews in the beginning of the following class. This makes the student not only memorize definitions, but to also understand the reasoning behind different concepts.

A Little Bit About Me...

I taught high school for one year and middle school for a year and a half. I was certified to teach social studies 6-12, though I have let my certification expire. I have worked with middle school students for the past four years in an administrative and service capacity. I am an ex-Member of the Florida House of Representatives and have informally many students at the middle school level. My degree is is in Business, but my passion is social studies and reading.
Teaching is enjoyable to me, but the bureaucracy of the school systems is not. I believe that there is no "one size fits all" when it comes to helping students learn. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an Interdisciplinary Social Science degree from the University of South Florida. While attending college, I worked as a nanny/tutor for 2 years. My time involved tutoring a young boy in all school subjects in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. Not only did I help him with homework, but I also helped him learn study skills and organizational strategies. As I indicated, I have a B.A.in Philosophy and later studies in Art. Later, in 1975, I decided to return to obtain a DMD at BU. After that I joined the Army and served as an Army dentist. Due to events in my life following my brief sojourn in the Army, I traveled abroad to India and Asia. Upon returning, I continued to study, but this time in more spiritual matters.
